AlaskaThora has a lead role in this family adventure taking place in – you guessed it – the wilderness of Alaska.
The father of Jessie (Thora) and her brother is the pilot of a small plane
in a small village in Alaska's wilderness. One of his flights results in
him crashing into a mountain, but surviving. After a rescue helicopter
fails to find him, the teenagers take off on a rescue missing by
themselves, equipped with just a canoe, mountain climbing equipment, and
Jessie's modest wilderness savvy.
This makes for a reasonable family adventure, but nothing more. If you
liked Thora in Now and
Then, you probably like her also in this movie, for simply being
herself. While Thora's role is large, it's quite simple and not memorable.
