Call of the WildAn ordinary family outdoors adventure, focusing on sled dog racing. Ariel is likable, but has had better roles than this one.
Loosely based on book by Jack
London, this low-budget family adventure achieves nothing special. A
10-year-old girl Ryann Hale (Ariel) goes live with her grandfather at his
remote cabin, and finds a wounded dog. The dog heals, but a bad man claims
the dog is his. It's agreed that if Ryann and his friends win a dog sled
race, they can keep the dog.
Ariel is the central character, but characteristically for average family
adventures, the character isn't very interesting. Ariel is better in Dark Water, but it's
interesting to see in this movie how she's grown up.
