New York, I Love You

Taylor performs in a main role of one short segment of this anthology. Her acting is remarkably natural, but there isn't room for much of it.

The film consists of several short stories about New York. This mini review only looks at one of them, starring Taylor in one of the two main roles. Incidentally, that one is directed by Natalie Portman, who also acts in one of the other segments.
The story is a simple one, about five minutes in length. A man takes care of a child, Taylor, during one day. The nature of the relationship is revealed in the end.

Taylor's acting is very natural. In some scenes (there aren't that many to choose from) it's so natural you wonder if she remembers she's making a movie at all. The umbrella scene in the video clip is especially notable, because it's rare that a main character gets to do such silly rambling, even though that's what actual children do all the time. That said, most of her lines are designed to further the story as in any movie, and there's no fault in how Taylor delivers those either.
I also tip my hat to Natalie as a director for choosing Taylor, and capitalizing on her strengths.
