Practical Magic

A romance-heavy, modern story of a family of witches. None of the young actresses have a role you'd remember for long, not even if you're a big fan of them.

The style of Practical Magic is mainly that of romance, combined with the classical elements of witch tales, and, oddly, an abusive, drug-overdosing husband. The story is about a family of women that has had witches for 300 years. Due to an old curse, any man the women fall in love with will die.
For the first 15 minutes of the movie Sally (Camilla) and Gillian (Lora) Owens are children, being raised as witches by their bohemian aunts. The girls' roles are small and not that special.
Evan and Alexandra appear in the rest of the movie, as children of adult Sally. They have much less screen time than they could, and no particular character development takes place. Evan's role, in particular, completely pales in comparison to her masterpiece Digging to China.
Alexandra, who has only ever done a couple of movie roles, surprises positively. She's a natural comedian and makes you smile, but again, the role is too small.
