The Time Traveler's WifeA solid time travel romance. The girls central but quite small roles, not something you remember for long afterwards.
As even the title of the movie suggests, this is a cross between romance
and time travel. The combination actually works well. When your partner can
disappear at any moment, or you've met him when he was older and he doesn't
recognize you yet, it brings an abundance of complex relationship
questions. And not even death needs to be final.
Brooklynn plays the main character's wife Clare when she's 9, and first
meets her future husband Henry, who is already an adult. The story follows
Clare's life linearly, with her husband disappearing and re-appearing
randomly. They have a child Alba, who inherits his father's time travel
ability, but has control over it. This results one of the cutest
time-travel scenes of all times, where Alba is playing with her younger
self.
Tatum and her big sister Hailey play Alba in different ages. They and
Brooklynn are very cute and appealing, perfectly suited for a romantic
movie. The roles are important for the movie, but limited in their size,
totaling five to ten minutes per actress.
Production values are high, the acting is solid, and makers have had a
strong grasp of both genres, resulting in an enjoyable amalgamation.
