Whale RiderA Maori girl challenges the traditions of her culture regarding a female becoming a chief.
Pai (Keisha) challenges the Maori traditions that forbid a girl becoming a
chief. The movie has a beautiful message of the youth showing the Maori
people a new way, but there is no preaching or overt feminism. The DVD
includes a nice, half an hour extra, with mostly focuses on Keisha.
